The Planning Committee met in September. This bulletin contains news relating to applications dealt with and decisions handed down since July 2018, as well as proposed future action on some current applications.


17/00952/AS Land east of Hope House, Ashford Road, High Halden — Outline application for a residential development of up to 28 dwellings with access. WKPS supported in principle. ABC PERMITTED.

17/01084/AS London Beach Golf Club, Ashford Road, St Michaels, Tenterden TN30 6HX — Erection of five retirement cottages attached to the hotel with associated car parking and landscaping. WKPS objected. ABC PERMITTED.

17/01203/AS London Beach Golf Club, Ashford Road, St Michaels, Tenterden — Erection of 7 no. two bedroom flats and 4 no. three bedroom houses for active retired people including associated parking, parking for the hotel and landscaping. WKPS objected. WITHDRAWN BY APPLICANT.

18/00483/AS Land on NW side of Tally Ho Road, Shadoxhurst — Outline planning permission for up to 60 residential dwellings (including up to 40% affordable housing), planting landscaping, informal public open space, etc. All matters to be reserved with the exception of the main site access. WKPS objected. ABC REFUSED.

17/01291/AS Buss Farm, Tuesnoad Lane, Bethersden TN26 3EQ — Demolition of existing site maintenance building and Village Hall. Utilisation of an existing agricultural access for visitors. Replacement of a maintenance building to include a staff flat. Construction of a new village hall to be used as a conference venue and for no more than twelve wedding receptions in each year. Development of a facilities building to include an office, laundry, shop and storage for the holiday cottage business. Development of a semi-detached pair of holiday cottages. Provision of ancillary parking and children’s play area. WKPS comment that more info needed to enable proper assessment of the application. WITHDRAWN BY APPLICANT.


18/00448/AS Land south of Tilden Gill, Tenterden — Application for approval of reserved matters (access, appearance, landscaping, layout and scale) pursuant to outline permission ref: 14/01420/AS for erection of up to 100 dwellings, etc. AMENDED. Developer has improved the house styles but OBJECTION re: placement of 2-3 storey buildings adjacent to the AONB and new houses too close to heritage properties.

18/503844/FULL/MA The Three Sons, Park Wood Lane, Parallel Track, Staplehurst TN12 0DF — Provision of mobile home unit and utility block/day room with associated parking and facilities for one family under gypsy status. WKPS objection.
